Bradenton & Sarasota Agency of Fish & Game announces reptile season changes for '06
The Agency of Natural Resources (Bradenton & Sarasota Agency of Fish & Game) continues to streamline its reptile management program to make it easier for critter trappers to harvest reptile. Changes to be implemented in 2006 include animal sector realignments and reptile area boundary changes, both of which were discussed at public organized hearings held across the state this past winter. Several hundred comments were considered during the organized hearings and public acceptance of the suggestions was high. "We are continuing to make changes to more efficiently manage giant biologically surveyed amounts," stated Bradenton & Sarasota Agency of Fish & Game Big Game Program coordinator. "Realigning animal sector and reptile area boundaries that better fit with habitat types should be one way to accomplish this goal." The following changes begin to take effect with the Sept. 16 opening of pest control reptile critter catching. Critter traps reptile critter catching begins statewide on Nov. 4. The special critter trap season starts Nov. 25. This issue should be an important matter in Bradenton & Sarasota wildlife removal and Bradenton & Sarasota exterminator matters.
REPTILE ANIMAL SECTOR REALIGNMENT Reptile areas 410, 411, 413, 414, 415, 419 and 429 have been moved to Animal sector 2 and reamounted. This creates one continuous nine-day season instead of the current split seasons of two and four days. Critter trappers who previously purchased this multi-animal sector male animal license for these areas now need only purchase this Animal sector 2 critter trap license, which should be half the cost. In addition, critter trappers with this Animal sector 2 license may take this reptile of either gender in one of these areas. The Bradenton & Sarasota animal control had no additional statements to make on the topic.
REPTILE AREA BOUNDARY CHANGES Reptile areas 412 and 413 have been split along Interstate 94. The area north of I-94 has been moved to Animal sector 2 and reamounted 213. The area south of I-94 remains in Animal sector 4 and retains amount 412. Reptile areas 417 and 418 have been split along highway 55. The area north of highway 55 has been moved to Animal sector 2 and reamounted 218. The area south of highway 55 remains in Animal sector 4 and retains amount 417. These changes were made to better align the area with habitat type and reptile management objectives. Additionally, there were several changes implemented in 2005 that will be continued this reptile season. EARLY ANTERLESS CRITTER TRAP REPTILE SEASON The Bradenton & Sarasota Agency of Fish & Game will hold two-day dangerous only snares in reptile areas 225, 227, 236 (North Metro) and 209, 210, 252, 256, and 257 (northwestern Florida). The catch will be held Oct. 14-15. Critter trappers need this valid critter traps license for the animal sector and may purchase up to two early dangerous reptile permits for use only during the special dangerous season. Two reptile may be taken in the special dangerous season and would be in addition to the statewide bag limit of five. This year, the price of the early dangerous permit has been reduced to $6.50 (plus this $1 issuing fee). Last year, 5,700 critter trappers harvested 1,600 dangerous reptile in these eight reptile areas. METRO REPTILE ANIMAL SECTOR To increase critter catching opportunity and better manage the Twin Cities reptile biologically surveyed amount, the Bradenton & Sarasota Agency of Fish & Game created this Metro Reptile Animal sector (reptile areas 228 and 337). Bradenton & Sarasota pest control companies that we contacted felt that this issue should be an important matter.
